Paint defects vary on different types of painted surfaces, paint colors and paint hardness. We recommend having your vehicle's painted surface evaluated in order to ensure it gets the proper care needed for that show room shine.
Headlight Restoration
Headlight oxidation and scratches can affect more than just the aesthetic appeal of your vehicle, it can block up to 60% illumination and prove hazardous in harsh weather conditions and night time driving.
Today’s vehicle headlights are coated with an acrylic layer that is sensitive to ultraviolet radiation from the sun. Overtime this layer becomes yellow from oxidation, a process that is under discussed and poses serious safety risks.
Here at TDP Sacramento we use a professional 7-step headlight restoration process that removes the acrylic layer and light scratches and we finish your headlights with our finest paste wax for ultimate protection.
Rag Top Care
If you’re a convertible owner, then you know the wonderful feeling of riding with the top down. However, you also understand the maintenance and care required to keep your rag top looking good. There are two types of convertible tops; vinyl and canvas. Each material is cared for differently.
Both convertible tops are designed to withstand the harsh elements and are resilient if properly maintained, but if left unprotected, dirt, grime and debris will work its way into the fabric and break down the color and the material.
Preventative maintenance is the key to keeping your rag top looking good and staying protected. Cleaning and sealing convertible tops requires special equipment and chemicals and the care for these materials is better left to the professionals.
We would be happy to provide a free, no-obligation evaluation of your convertible top that is good for 30 days.
Ceramic coating
Ceramic coating is the newest evolution in paint protection and has flooded the market. There are many types of ceramic coating available today including spray on, 2-in-1 coatings and 1 year “ceramics”, but here at The Detailing Pros we stick to the professional grade products only.
We offer two types of coatings:
Quartz base 2-3 year coating: We use a variety of brands including CarPro, IGL and Jade.
Resin based 5 year coating: We are also certified installers for OptiCoat and offer their superior 5 year ceramic coating; Opticoat Pro+. This product is only offered at our downtown facility.
Before a ceramic coating is applied to your vehicle, there are essential steps that need to be taken.
Over-the-counter ceramic coating, such as out 2 year coatings, can be applied after the claybar process. Claybar treatment removes micro-contaminants that embed themselves into the pores of the clear coat, allowing proper coverage and adhesion to your vehicle’s painted surfaces. It is recommended to also have the vehicle polished before ceramic applications, but it’s not necessary.
With our warranted OptiCoat ceramic coating application, we are mandated to also include paint polishing, or buffing, to our ceramic coating packages. Buffing the paint comes after the claybar process and can remove imperfections in the paint such as water spots, swirls and scratches/etchings. If imperfections are not removed, they will be magnified by the ceramic coating layer, and also be locked into the paint until the coating is removed or runs its course.

Wheel Polishing
When it comes to keeping your ride looking sharp, we know it is all about the details. The rims on your vehicle should not go unnoticed. In fact, wheels are one of the most important cosmetic features on your vehicle. Nothing proves this better than the numerous after-market options of wheels. And nothing provides a better custom look to a vehicle then the beautiful finish on your wheel rims. So it’s no wonder customers often request professional wheel polishing along with all of our many detailing services.
Dirty rims and faded tires can affect the overall appearance of your vehicle. Removing road tar, road grime and defects in your wheels is what we specialize in here at TDP Sacramento. Professional wheel polishing increases the depth and gloss of your rims, removes some minor imperfections, and we finish with a protectant that will ensure the longevity of your wheels appearance.
Cleaning and maintaining your rims is just as important as maintaining the rest of your vehicle. You might think wheel polishing is merely for keeping up appearance, but when done right this service also acts as preventative maintenance. Brake dust can eat away the coating of your rims, pit the metal, and lead to major irreversible damages. Regular wheel polishing is one of the best ways to prevent this kind of damage. Our wheel polishing service removes dirt and dust, polishes the surface to a high shine, and takes the extra step to protect your rims and put a stop to corrosion and contamination. Keeping up on the maintenance of your wheels will keep the cost down on future detailing work and expensive wheel replacement.
