Winter Season is Vehicle Protection Season
When it comes to auto detailing in Sacramento, there is no better time to get your vehicle protected than right before the Winter season.
Tree fallout, highway debris, contaminated rain and the lovely white gifts from the birds can all contribute to the breakdown of your vehicle’s exterior surfaces. If you are looking for auto detailing in downtown Sacramento, Land Park or East Sac, you know all about the tree fallout and bird air raids!
Having quality protection on your vehicle’s exterior surfaces may not completely shield you from these contaminants (depending on the protection), but having a solid coat of wax, sealant or ceramic coating will make it much harder for these contaminants to reach the painted layers of the vehicle, reducing clear coat failure, like oxidation. Paint protection film, however, is literally a shield for your paint and WILL completely protect your vehicle’s painted surfaces. Definitely look into PPF if it’s in your budget!

Having quality protection on your vehicle during the winter months can also make maintaining the vehicle so much easier! It takes less effort to remove debris, especially around the wheels. Sometimes you can just hose down the car and blow it dry with ease. I’m not a fan of drive thru washes, but with quality protection, a touchless wash system will work great. Waterless wash programs are also wonderful for vehicles that are properly protected. When I use Meguiar’s D115 Waterless Wash & Wax, I can wash my full size SUV (ceramic coated) in 10 minutes.
Keep your vehicle looking better, longer by applying a solic coat of protection before every winter season. Even ceramic coated vehicles can benefit from adding a layer or protection (or a topper) to elongate the life of the coating.
Speaking of extending the life of protection, it is important to also evaluate the vehicle’s paint in order to determine if claybar decontamination is needed prior to application. Decontaminating these surfaces can allow a much better bond of the protective agent, which will result in a longer lifespan of the wax, sealant or ceramic coating in Sacramento.
A lot of our detailing work in Sacramento comes from heavy tree coverage areas like Land Park, East Sacramento and Downtown Sacramento, so we’ve seen a lot of different contamination situations. If you have questions you can call anytime at 916-761-7196
